Using the Culture
How to Feed Flies:
Tap the top of the container so that the Fruit Flies will fall to the bottom. Then remove the lid, and shake the Fruit Flies into the feeding container. Don't forget to dust fruit flies with a quality calcium and multivitamin supplement to ensure optimal nutrition for your pets!
How to Feed Larvae:
High in fat, fruit fly larvae are a great emergency feeder.
Getting the fruit fly larvae is super easy. Grab a spoon and scoop the top of the media in the culture making sure to also scrape the sides a bit. When you pull out the spoon you should see small white larvae scooting around in the media.
This media spoon can be held out for frogs to feed from.
How to Store:
For optimal production, Josh's Frogs Fruit Fly Cultures should be kept at 75-78F and 60-80%. When Hydei are kept at too warm of a temperature, their offspring can mutate and regain the ability to fly.
Lifespan
- If kept properly, these cultures will produce for at least 2 weeks!
Culturing from Home
Josh's Frogs also provides all the supplies needed to make more cultures at home, both as kits and singly.
